CARBON-4-LIFE: Sustainable Valorization of Agricultural Biomass
VELTIS is proud to be a partner in the CARBON-4-LIFE project, an ambitious EU LIFE Programme initiative that aims to demonstrate the technical and commercial viability of transforming agricultural biomass into valuable, sustainable products.
Over the next 42 months, the project will develop and validate an integrated process that converts agricultural residues, including fruit-tree pruning and dried olive pomace, into renewable biogas, biochar-rich soil amendments, and peat alternatives. By combining pyrolysis and biomethanation technologies at commercial scale, CARBON-4-LIFE will contribute to advancing the circular bioeconomy, reducing waste, and supporting climate action.
Within the project, VELTIS is responsible for evaluating the environmental performance of the CARBON-4-LIFE process. Through comprehensive environmental assessment, we will help quantify the project’s sustainability benefits, providing robust evidence of its environmental impact and supporting the development of scalable, resource-efficient bioenergy solutions.
We are excited to collaborate with an outstanding consortium of partners from across Europe and look forward to contributing to innovative solutions that promote sustainable biomass valorization, carbon removal, and a more circular future.
